Under the general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer; the Director of Risk, Performance Improvement and Medical Records:
Assists with planning and implementing the Performance Improvement Program to meet the needs of the facility.Â Facilitates performance improvement activities throughout the facility and assists with responsibility for all regulatory body surveys.Â Helps to maintain oversight responsibility for all performance improvement activities conducted throughout the facility.Â Directs and supports Performance Improvement and Quality Council activities.Â
Has broad responsibility to protect the hospitalâ€™s assets from loss.Â This position is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure.Â The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed so to comply with guidelines and standards of Joint Commission, other regulatory agencies and the UHS Risk Program.Â
Establishes and maintains adequate health information systems in compliance with all applicable laws, standards and policies.Â These systems include forms control, chart audits, record security, the release of information process, transcription services and filing.Â Coordinates the daily activities of the Medical Records Department and ensures all medical records and related documents are easily located, appropriately filed, assembled and maintained, delivered in a timely manner and analyzed.Â This position is designated as the Facility's Privacy Officer and demonstrates the consistent ability to maintain confidentiality and utilize the â€œminimum necessaryâ€� rule.Â
This position directly supervises the Patient Representative and Medical Records Staff.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.Â
