The Specialist Professional Coding Compliance employee will:
* Serve as a subject matter expert and educator on coding regulatory compliance regarding correct coding and documentation.
* Audit employed physicians on accuracy of E&M level coding, ICD-10-CM diagnosis assignment, CPT procedural coding, HCPCs level 2 coding, and associated modifiers.
* Provide documentation/coding education to coders, physicians, and other clinical staff (1:1 , small group presentations, email, etc.
* Create educational materials on documentation/coding guidelines
High School Diploma required.
3 years progressive experience coding in a Clinical Services environment required.
CPC or CCS-P Certification required.
CPMA certification or attainment of CPMA within 12-months of hire required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Must be highly organized and able to work independently after being given management directives.
Strong written and oral communication skills required.
Strong computer skills required.
2 years experience as a trainer/educator preferred.
