ChristianaCare is currently seeking a Credentialing Specialist to work in the Medical Dental Staff Services department at Christiana Hospital. In this position you will be responsible for the coordination of assigned physician development activities, oversight of credentialing functions for assigned departments, and support of activities involved in delegated credentialing. Other responsibilities to include:
Coordinates and assures accuracy of all credentialing/privileging functions for assigned departments to include support of the department's credential committee, agenda preparation, minute taking, distribution and management of initial appointments and re-appointments.
In collaboration with Department Chairs, provides ongoing assessment and modification of privileging forms to ensure consistency and standardization of privileging processes.
In collaboration with Corporate Director, coordinates and supports select committees of the medical-dental staff (ad hoc and special committee meetings) to include development of agendas and minute taking
In collaboration with Manager, coordinates and conducts pre-delegation and annual Credentialing Due Diligence audits, prepare audit reports and follow-up, and responds to corrective action plan (CAP) for the audits, as applicable. Prepares and presents Credentialing activities and files for oversight audits, as required.
Responsible for development and implementation of structure to assure database integrity (credentialing database) to include but not limited to monthly licensure (state, other state, CSR and DEA) reconciliation, new applicant reconciliation (licenses, NPDB enrollment) renewal reconciliation (appropriate dates, license verification). Responds to external data requests
Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Two year's work related experience required. Previous credentialing experience strongly preferred. CPCS, Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist, preferred. Experience should include a combination of activity coordination and exposure to regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission and CMS.
